I know my Athena dive on won with had found like 10 rings, not a single wand the whole game. I just now died to a chimera with Athena on floor 18 and had found no rings, but like 6 wands so far. So who knows. I always seem to find stuff in groups like that.
What i actually meant was blessed weaponry, although i do experience the clumping of specific item types that you mention.
i've been a little MIA, traveling right now, and not as much down time as i'd thought, but i'll give the contest a go. if i won't be connected to the internet when i finish the game, will it still upload my game later? or only if it's in my personal hall of fame? in which case should i delete and reinstall RT to start with a clean hall of fame?

That's right twalkabout. We're both traveling right now, mine's for business though! As long as your game makes it into your local Hall of Fame you'll be able to submit it whenever you get back in network coverage. To submit it later, just go into RT and view the Hall of Fame screen... simple as that! The scores will be sent off to the server.
If your Hall of Fame is full of incredibly rich dudes it may be prudent to delete and re-install for now. These speed runs down and back don't provide you with enough gold otherwise. I'll address this with a mechanism to clear the hall of fame within the game in the next update!

You sure deserve it. You had less steps in your full run than I did just to the amulet.
I have made it to the amulet twice now. Hopefully I will make it back before the contest is over.
I was just having the most disturbingly amazing Athena run and on floor 22-23 I was trying to outmanuever mobs to get the stairs and ended up sandwiched between griffs, wraiths, and jabas. Check my inventory, hold, teleport, or scare, considering the layout it was very possible to waste my teleport, hold and there still in my way, so I'll just scare and kill.....&)&*%{>|€|+\£|*^&3$:&
P.S. I forgot scare monster scrolls don't work in doorways
