Thank you all for the compliments, now I feel inspired to fix up my Xanmyral story, it is so far not only my best character that I have every done/used, it's story is a large one, with many awesome points of interest. Expect it sometime this weekend, gotta put all the notes together and smooth out the rough edges. Venture on, and may your packs be full of magical items!

Okay, time for my story. I don't have all of the notes that I jotted down, so I can't get everything, and since I am going into such great detail I will just show his adventure through the first level. Don't worry though, I will put up the rest of the story once it is both written, and when I get the rest of my quickly scribble notes that are in my backpack at school, locked in my evil locker.

Xanmyral's Story

Xanmyral walked down the set of stairs, with a sigh as his feet echoed on the stone steps. "So... This is the famous Dungeon of Doom. The risk of fame and fortune has lured many an unlucky hero to their untimely demise here..." He said as he stepped on the last step and looked around the dimly lit first room. "Time to go through the gauntlet, as they say." Xan remarked, as he sighed and looked around. He tightened his grip on the mace that he got. His equipment was given to him by the Guild, since his previous attire wouldn't last him very long here. In his left hand he looked at a strange gold ring, that was given to him in secret by one of his friends in the guild. "Use it well, and may it protect and guide you out of the Dungeon." His friend had said. "Well, it would of been nice though if he told me what it did..." Xanmyral said as he pinched the bridge of his nose. He listened for a while, only hearing the sounds of the underground however, decided to move on. Opening the first door he saw he walked into the long and winding hallway, on guard for attack. Seeing a door further on down the hall way he dashed to it and took a deep breath. "Here we go..." Xanmyral said to him self as he reared back, and smashed the door in with his boot, startling the monster on the other side. A frosty face set it's empty eye sockets on Xanmyral, it's body a strange mix of water, snow, and ice. 'An Ice Monster.' Xan thought, as he charged towards it with his mace held high, letting loose a bloody scream of battle! The Ice Monster slung a ball of ice towards Xan, which he deftly dodged and then countered with a great smash of his mace on the head of the Ice Monster. The head shattered, and water/ice/snow flew on the floor. Xanmyral, thinking his foe done for, turned back to be hit on the back by what felt like hard club. Xan spun around, seeing that the Elemental had grown another head! "Well, if that's how you want it!" He yelled at the foe of Ice and smashed his mace into the chest of the creature. A large chunk of ice and snow flew away, like flesh, and water spilled from the wound as if it was it's blood. The beast tried again to strike, and it gave Xan a glancing blow on his shoulder, which greatly infuriated him as he smashed the Monster again with his mace, this time taking it's arm. The Ice Monster fell, slumped over and defeated. Xanmyral panted as he looked at the monster, and for good measure berated it a few more times with his mace to make sure that it doesn't get back up. "Whew!" Xanmyral exclaimed as he sat down, and took out a Journal with the words 'Bestiary' Written in fancy letters on the front. He jotted down a picture of what the monster looke- Err, used to look like, and then a short discription. Xan tucked the book away as he searched the room for anything of use, and almost gave up until he tripped. Cursing a few times, he checked to see what he tripped on to see a loose stone in the floor. "Huh..." He said as he set his mace down for a while and after a bit of effort, pried the rock from it's spot to see a dusty bottle underneath it. Xan carefully extracted the bottle, and whipped the dust off of it to see a strange Cyan color liquid float around in the bottle. "What's this?" He asked him self as he searched the bottle to try and find means to figure out what it was, or did. Shrugging, he popped the cork and drank the strange elixir, hoping for the best. At first nothing happened, until he felt a strange empowering feeling. Looking at his arm he saw the muscle in it flex unintentionally and grow, his muscles becoming more corded and stronger. Xanmyral flexed his fingers as he grabbed the mace again, silently thanking whoever left that potion there. Xan found several other doors and decided to take the one of the left, finding another hallway. Xan quickly searched the whole floor, fighting several other monsters and jotting them down in his Journal. Hobgoblin, Kestral were mostly what he fought, he also saw a few more Ice Monsters. Though this time he didn't have as much trouble thanks to the potion, who's effects he noticed immediately as he effortlessly smashed through his enemies, and with each enemy he fought his knowledge grew on how to avoid their attacks, hit them, and even their weaknesses. Thus with each foe he fought, he grew stronger, and stronger. Xanmyral sighed as he looked down at the bloodied corpse of a Hob, to see something odd further down in the room. Xan quickly raced towards the oddity, seeing that it was stairs that led into darkness, further down. Confident that he explored all this level has to offer he descended the stairs, having a few goodies that he found in the first level, and went to see what the next level has to offer him.

Good stuff!

Reading that I like the vision I got of the Guild. In my vision I see it as a little fruit vendor like shack situated near the entrance that, for a small fee, gives you some used mace, some scraggily ring mail, a boxed lunch, and the opportunity to reach into some big grab bag sack for a single item. You, "Oh, I got a ring...does it have any magical powers?" The bored bureaucrat working the booth responds, "It probably does something, no clue, I'll just need you to sign here to waive us of any responsibility for your untimely death and then if you could list your emergency contact person there."

Part Two! :D I can't help but wonder if I might just make a large chunk of text for each level, for it seems that I'm starting to do that even though I didn't really mean to. I can't work on anymore of the story today however - - Because I have school tomorrow... But Summer is near, and expect me to write a new level for the story each day! Also, trust me, it get's a lot more exciting later on. I also have a bad habit of infusing some of my questions about the game into my stories... But that's just extra info, on to the story!

Xanmyral's Story - Part Two

Going with great caution, did Xanmyral descend the stairs lower into the Dungeon of Doom. He stood on guard as he noticed that immediately with stepping in the room he was beset upon by a bat. "Grah! Pesky gnat!" Xan cursed as he tried to swat the bat away with is mace. When he finally succeeded in getting rid of that nuisance he looked around the stony tomb and spotted several rooms. "Great, which one... Decisions, decisions." Xanmyral said as he sighed and just shrugged as he took the one on the left. Opening the door he peered down the winding hallway and just shook his head as he walked down the hallway. "I can't help but wonder who built this expansive place..." Xan said as he ran his fingers softly against the stone along the pathway as he walked, his metal greaves clinking on the stone. "Been here for as long as anyone can remember, and still it is in great condition..." Xanmyral mused to him self as he looked at his fingers, seeing them covered with dust and cobwebs, then proceeded to wipe them on his pants. He saw the door at the end of the hallway, but strangely instead of light leaking from the cracks in the door, it was just dark. Xanmyral gripped the leather handle on his mace, his face turned as grim as the stones around him and proceeded to the door. He opened the door softly, but flinched as the door made a long creek sound and looked into the gloom. 'The torches must be out...' Xan thought as he slowly entered the room and hugged along the wall. He heard some foot steps of some creature that was attempting to sneak up on him. A smirk slinked up on his face as he pointed him self towards the sound and rushed towards it. His shoulder smashed into the creature, which turned out to be another Hobgoblin. The creature fell down the ground dazed by the sudden movement as Xanmyral raised his mace and brought it down. Their was a clanging noise as the mace smashed the ground, missing the Hob, which quickly got up and launched a flurry of attacks on Xan, which caught him off guard. His vision flashed white with pain as he felt the rugged, crude blade of the dagger the hob had dig into his shoulder, but his vision was then filled with red. Ignoring the wound he let out a scream of anger and smashed the mace, sending the hob flying into the wall, killing it. Another monster appeared from the shadows, some strange bird creature that quickly tried to attack Xanmyral. Still in his rage he smashed the bird on the leg, giving off a loud crack, and the bird then attempted to stab at the enrage hero with it's beak. CRACK! The mace met with the strong bill, but the mace won and the hard beak shattered as the mace smashed into the face of the Emu. Xan panted as he came around to his senses, and fell down on the ground, resting for a while. Xanmyral sat the mace down on the ground as he rubbed his bloody hand through his hair absent-mindlessly as he glanced at the bodies. He took out his Bestiary and jotted down his new enemy and then put it up as he checked the corpses for anything of interest. Xan blinked in surprise as he found another potion of strength. Xanmyral quickly chugged the strange liquid, feeling the soothing feeling again as he saw against he results go to work quickly. Xan wondered through the rest of the rooms, not really finding much else of interest, and giving a good beat down to any monster that get's in his way, until he found the stairs. "Two down, twenty-four to go..." Xanmyral remarked to him self as he cracked his neck and continued onwards to the next level.

Neat story, though I would change the word "wondered" to "wandered" in the second sentence from the end. Otherwise very interesting......I can hardly wait until you get to rattlesnakes and aquators, let alone those pesky griffons ;)
