Sorry I haven't posted for a while, the teachers are going all out on homework and I've been a little preoccupied. I guess I won't be able to post once a day, as I had hoped, and will just try to get one out once a week now, hopefully every three days or so. Just having some trouble finding some free time. Like I said, most of this story is true, as every main thing that happens really did, but I did spice some things up, for entertainment, I won't lie about that.
Xanmyral's Story Part 4
Xanmyral yawned as he felt the stairs level out into the room. He looked around, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. Xan had took a nap on the stairs, mostly so he could get some rest and not worry that much about monsters. His pack already is starting to grow full with the various loot he had acquired through this ventures in the dungeon, his mace having put down any monsters that would bother him. Xanmyral looked at the plain gold ring his friend had given him, and still couldn't help but wonder what the hell it did. He was a little afraid to put it on, but he didn't guess that his friend meant him ill, but he felt something was a little funny in how shortly after he asked to be in the guild his training was both cut short, and he was put on the hardest assignment the guild had! Xan pocketed the ring as he looked around the room to see it empty. There was only one door however, which made his decision on which way was easy. He opened the door and walked into the hallway, to see the other door quickly. Xanmyral walked down the hall way and opened the door, peering into the dimly lit room. There was some movement, and he saw an orc shuffling around the room, as if looking for something. "Odd... Should I watch, or attack?" Xan mentioned to him self quietly, an all to odd habit that he has picked up in the dark and claustrophobic environment that he was put in. He decided to watch as the strange creature mulled around, until he seemed to of found what he was looking for since he gave a soft cry of delight, and picked up a small tube like case. Xanmyral, not wanting to let this moment go, rushed into the room and quickly gave his mace a good toss, the metal head of the mace crushing the orc's skull immediately as Xan went to retrieve his mace, and see what the Orc had found. He took the case, and popped it open to find an old scroll, the wording strange and faded on it's yellow, crinkly paper. Xanmyral furrowed his eyebrows as he read the scroll out loud, trying to decipher it's meaning, when suddenly he got insight. He had a strange out of body experience as suddenly his focus swarmed to the ring, and immediately he knew what it did. The scroll turned to dust, Xan stashed the case in his backpack as he took out the worn plain gold ring. Xanmyral gave a smile as he put the ring on, knowing that even though he was faced with hard trials, his friends would still support him. He felt his body shimmer slightly, as the ring of protection's magic went to work, and the shimmer died down until it wouldn't be noticed until he was struck. He glanced around the room, seeing two ways out. One was the way he took, the other a new way. "Well, once again that narrows down my options." Xan remarked to him self with a smirk as he strode to the doorway and opened it. He went through the winding corridors until he found another room, this time it was lit as well, without a monster inside this time. "Well... This room seems empty..." Xanmyral said to him self as he looked around until he saw a small crate in the very corner of the room, hidden in the shadows casted by the torches that were on the wall. Xan quickly dashed to the crate, eager to find out what bounty it might hold. He tore open the top to find a strange orange potion. "Well, so far nothing bad happened while drinking, these, so what's the worst that could happen?" Xanmyral said to him self as he quickly drank the potion. Almost immediately his eyesight blurred, his hearing distorted and he stumbled to the wall. "The hell?!" Xanmyral yelled to him self as he tried to regain his balance, but just succeeded in smacking face first into the stone wall. 'OW!' He thought as he tried to hold his nose but managed to instead hit his face on accident. 'Just calm down... Try to think what's going on...' Xanmyral thought to him self, trying to clear the white noise in his head that was deafening. He tried again to walk, but tripped and fell on his face. 'Why me...' He thought as he just laid there for a while, his mind slowly clearing after a while. When Xan regained control of his limbs he sat up and rubbed his face, which was scratched up and had a bruise from when he hit the wall. "I just want to go down stairs now..." He muttered to himself, slightly ticked off now. Xanmyral quickly scouted the rest of the levels, finding weak resistance every now and then as he found the stairs, and descended again to level four.
