To dive or not to dive (that is the question)

Post by DPCyric »

Ok I am on floor 26 with an absolutely redic Neo and I want to know if I should see how many floors I can descend or if I should just grab the amulet and go for a win... Here is my current set up:

STR 17
AC -1 (+4 rustproof Plate Mail)
+5/+5 Shocking War Hammer (beat my Thor corpse from last game)
17 rations of food
8 potions of healing
3 potions of extra healing
A potion of blessing
3 scroll of remove curse
a scroll of hold monster
a scroll of teleportation
ring of sustain strength (wearing all the time)
ring of searching (used only to find doors)
2 staff of magic missle
want of paralysis
staff of fire
and some other random minor items

Do you think I should see how far down I can take this Neo? I think he could go a LONG ways but I would also like to make the journey home :?

Dive man, dive!!! I think you've got some good potential with that character, haste and a weapon like that will carry you quite a ways.... Be careful and let us know how you make out- if the results are not immediately obvious at the top of the leaderboard!

I decided to dive 8-) One of my big worries was that a -1 AC wasn't much but I picked up a couple scrolls of enchant armor (along with a couple enchant weapon scrolls!) after a couple of floors :D I think these game will take a long time... as long as I don't get pwnd by a Medusa confusing me I should be good for a few hundred floors :ugeek:

Not sure there's really any point in going back up. I mean sure, you can say you "beat" the game as far as retrieving the amulet, but if you're going to dive at all it seems like you should just keep going until you die.
