Good question. I had not found any (or tried) until reminded by this thread. Fourth try I found a special name and started with: Blessed 5,+5 freezing dagger of griffin slaying +5 leather armor ring of slow digestion Strength 24 I was going to try some more, but decided I better play this character ...

To clarify for lr100 and anyone else reading but not playing, the doors show up fine on the main map, just not on the overview map of the whole level. So a missing feature but does not significantly affect play.

1) I was convinced that diagonal moves were not possible for my first two games, but finding it easier to activate now, so perhaps just wrong impression. And these have all already been noted by others, just a vote for a fix: 2) doors missing on the mini-map 3) name not being saved for next game 4) ...

I am new to Rogue but played a lot of Nethack. I had forgotten just how easy it was to die in these games!

To stretch out what food you do find, note that according to the description of the original Rogue game wearing a ring uses more food. (Makes sense as a game mechanic to balance the potential benefits, but far from obvious!) I just died, fainted from hunger while fighting a wraith, wearing two curse...
