Re: Level 19
I think level 19 is about the time griffons start to appear. If you don't have one (or better more) of the following you are toast: -wand of paralysis -wand of cornucopia -ring of stealth Getting to the griffons is easy. Getting past them is another point all together. I ascended last night with not...

As far as the organization of the apps, you can always go with a jailbreak and then add the categories application. You can then organize all of your apps into folders. Without categories, I would probably have about 10 pages to flip through. As it is now, I have only two and life is much better. Dave

Re: Rogue Touch Strategies
One tip that I sort of stumbled upon in my last game, although it is probably a no-brainer. Stairs are your best friend going down and coming back up. If you find the stairs early and decide to keep exploring, always know your quickest path back to the stairs. If you are in need of some rest to heal...

Finally, a real victory!
I guess persistence does pay off. I finally got a win with a "real" character tonight. My totals were 20,459 moves, 317 kills, and 10253 gold. Now if I can figure out how to submit a score .... In case people are curious, my final loadout looked like this: -1 AC (enhanced / protected) plat...

Re: First time winning, or get greedy and venture down...?
I know when I first got the amulet in Neo's hands I couldn't get back to the top quickly enough! I would just go for the victory and then try for an awesome score later on. You never know when you will get the chance again. I can't seem to bring myself to play Neo again, but perhaps a super deep div...

Re: Feature Requests for Rogue Touch - Part TWO!
There are only a few things that make 1 run from the amulet different from the next. The randomness of terrain and traps. The randomness of loot. The critters that permanently destroy objects and wealth (Nymphs and Leprechauns). The critters that can cause curable damage to armor and strength and m...

Re: Feature Requests for Rogue Touch - Part TWO!
I'm a little bit curious about the behavior of nymphs and leps now that it has been brought up. I never played the original Rogue, but I have been playing Nethack on and off for about 10 years now (my goodness ... 10 years and never a single win). In Nethack, both monsters actually stay on the level...

Re: Feature Requests for Rogue Touch - Part TWO!
I wold like to see a couple of balance issues addressed, although perhaps these have been put in there on purpose. First, it seems like there are way too many pit traps appearing in the lower levels. I can live with a few scattered around, but seriously it seems like every level from 10 or 11 down h...

Re: Clarification.....
I was trying to figure if a plain 2handed was better then the starting weapon I think the two best starting weapons are as follows: (1) Two handed sword. 4d4 guarantees at least 4 points of damage and up to 16 points (2) War hammer: 6d2 guarantees at least 6 points of damage and up to 12 points If ...
